Touchdown -American Football Rugby is an online sports game in which players take control of a ball carrier running towards the end zone and attempt to score as many touchdowns as possible. As a ball carrier, players must evade defenders, make blocks, and employ special moves to make it through a single play intact. The online game combines various elements found in both American football and rugby, which present different challenges as players progress through levels and increase the number of defenders on the field.

In Touchdown - American Football Rugby, you play as the runner and must try to reach the other side of the field and enter the end zone, avoiding the other players. Every turn of the game begins with the runner holding the ball and running across the large playing area, where the other players attempt to block their path. As the gameplay increases, the different formations make it harder and harder to navigate, requiring quicker reflexes and better planning when it's time to use power-ups. Catching a power-up changes the dynamic of getting through the playing area, as it gives the runner more strength.
Later in the game, rugby-inspired mechanics begin to emerge, including lateral passes to other players on your team and fumbles to simulate randomness in regular gridiron-based gameplay mechanics. With every touchdown you score, points and rewards are given to you so you can unlock new players with different attributes, such as speed and health.
