Pocket Pool gets started with the balls in a full rack kept in the shape of a triangle at one of the table's ends. A break shot is taken first to start the game; the cue ball is played into the racked balls to disperse them. After that, you have to pocket all your assigned balls—solids or stripes, depending on which you sink first. Each successful pocketed ball earns you another turn. If you miss or foul, your turn gets over, and the opponent gets the possession.
One has to be very strategic while playing this game. As a player, you have to not only think of the ball you are going to hit but also the position where the cue ball will stop after your shot. Good positioning makes it more difficult for the opponent to cut off your next shot. When you have got rid of all your owned balls, then you can go for the eight ball.
