Unlike shooting in regular soccer, where your only target is the net, in GoalShot, you should carefully study the level, find the correct angle, and plan the path of the ball. There may be walls, boxes, portals, and moving objects that could obstruct your shot.
Controls are easy, yet learning them requires a little time. Click and drag your mouse to set the ball into motion, adjust the angle, and then release the click. The goal is to score at least one star in the process of hitting the goal.
There is a limited number of balls per level, and you should spend each of them wisely. Think about the direction of your shot, how it will go through the obstacles, and how the ball will behave when touching the surface.
The handmade levels have unique obstacles for the player as they move ahead. There could be stationary walls that might obstruct a straight path, or there could be boxes that would compel you to alter the shooting angles. Moving obstacles increase the element of time, as the position of such obstacles could change before the ball reaches them. Portals can give you a strange path that would enable you to hit even the tough target.
The stars are not only there for decoration, as every completed level has a requirement that at least one star needs to be clipped while shooting the ball towards the net. This way, it would add yet another task for the players other than the easy way to hit the target.
In addition to motivating the player to keep playing even after beating levels, GoalShot allows the user to unlock various jerseys, hairstyles, soccer balls, and special effects that the player can use to personalize their character and shots.
