Flipping Master emphasizes timing, observation, and decision-making for the hero character, who moves diagonally across the screen on floating tiles. Each jump has to be made with care because, if the hero falls into the trap, the game will end instantly. Similarly, the hero can fight the enemies by landing directly on them. As the hero moves, the energy level decreases slowly. However, the hero needs to keep the energy level topped up by gaining energy points for fighting the enemies.
As the hero survives longer and moves further, the tiles become complicated, and the enemies become difficult to handle. The hero can buy new characters with the coins obtained by completing runs. Each character has distinct abilities and can be used to suit different play styles. As the hero gains experience points by completing runs and fighting enemies, the character levels up and gains skill points for acquiring new abilities, which can be used for different situations because one wrong step can end the game instantly.
